Course content
1. Logical positivism. 2. Semantic theory of truth. 3. Falsification model of science and hypothesis of the third world. 4. Quin?s critique of empiric dogmas (analytic and synthetic truth, redukcionism). 5. Structure of science theories. 6. Status of theoretical entities. 7. Development of science and the scientific revolution. 8. Rational reconstruction of the development of scientific cognition. 9. Methodological anarchism. 10 Constructivism and its critique. 11. Hermeneutics and semiotics. 12. Realism in sciences and the problem of ontological status of the law of nature. 13. Causal and teleological explanation. 14. Explanation and understanding.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming)

Learning outcomes
The course deals with relation of philosophy and science, ranging over philosophy of science and epistemology. Students get introduced to the main movements of contemporary philosophy of science and theories of main representatives. Students also get acquainted with basic terms and problems of philosophly of science: observation and the evidence problem; the truth problem and verification; the problem of ontological status of law of nature; the problem of causal and teleological explication; realism vs. constructivism; the structure of scientific theories; the scientific revolution.
The students will acknowledge themselves with the informations acording to the goal and the matter of the course.

Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.
