The course introduces views on a work of art from the Renaissance to the time of Kant. However, Romanticism opens the door to a modern concept, emphasizing the features of literature that distinguish it from artistic mimesis, and in hints they already appear in the mannerist concept of poetry and in 18th-century novelism.
