Course content
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the problems of physical measurement. During the course the theoretical methods will be discussed measurement of basic physical quantities (length, time, temperature, pressure, etc.). Students will be familiar with the principles of measuring these quantities both historical and contemporary. At the end of the course students will be introduced to metrology in the Czech Republic and general principles of preparation physical experiments. 1. Presentation of the course, introduction to physical measurements 1. 2. Introduction to Physical Measurements 2. 3. Measurement of Time, Track - Historical and Modern Approaches. 4. Weight, density measurement - historical and modern approaches. 5. Temperature, pressure measurement - historical and modern approaches. 6. Measurement of electrical quantities 1, charge, current, voltage, resistance. 7. Measurement of electrical quantities 2, capacitance, inductance, induction. 8. Measurement of photometric and radiometric quantities. 9. Measurement of substance, heat, energy. 10. Frequency measurement as best measurable, optical comb. 11.
