Course content
1. Development of GIS applications in physical geography (in regional development and landscape ecology). 2. Resources for Geodata of the Czech Republic landscape - a focus on data from human geography area. 3. Other sources of human geographic data (geostatistics, remote sensing, GPS, custom measurements, INSPIRE). 4. Data structures in human geography GIS data, data harmonization. 5. Analytical methods, the role of GIS and its applications in human geography. 6. Visualization of human geographic data.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Written assignment presentation and defence, Independent creative and artistic activities

Learning outcomes
The course is devoted to the theory and practical applications of GIS in human geography and their use for building information system of the territory and the creation of synthetic and analytical data for spatial planning based on human geographic data and processes.
Knowing the problems and address challenges with a focus on human geography, using geo-information technology.
Prerequisites
Attending courses on human geography, cartography and geoinformation.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis, Oral presentation of self-study, Presentation of student research activity

Czech language and ability to work with English text (focused on geography and geoinformation science). Ability to built independent work with GIS in human geography using consultation with teacher. Ability to present this work at the student symposium and to defend it.
