The course focuses on the practical aspects of using GIS and other geotechnologies in planning and solving geographic projects. Students choose a topic for their own geographic project and design its solution using GIS methods in the course. They will base their approach on a search of foreign and domestic literature. Finally, they will demonstrate the ability to work with English geographic texts. Participants will propose a theoretical geographical data model including its partial testing and prepare a presentation of their project solution with the support of web cartography tools (digital map storytelling). The course will provide participants with skills advantageous for solving their final thesis.
