Course content
1. The physical-geographic characteristics of the Czech Republic 2. Physical-geographical specifics of the Liberec Region 3. Urban areas in the Czech Republic 4. Transport infrastructure in the Czech Republic 5. Geography of religion focusing on the Czech Republic 6. The political-geographical characteristic of the Czech Republic

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)
  • Semestral paper - 10 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 25 hours per semester
  • Presentation preparation (report in a foreign language) - 20 hours per semester
  • Fieldtrips - 10 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 10 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 14 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Teachers of geography present and provide for individual work of students selected topics of geography, which involve both chapters of physical and human geography of the Czech Republic, with an emphasis on involvement of the specifics of the Liberec Region. Part of the course takes the form of fieldwork.
Students will become familiar with the geographic specifics of the Czech Republic with a special focus to Liberec region.

Basic knowledge of regional, human and physical geography

Combined examination

Students participate in seminars and work individually on assigned topics, which present at the end of the semester.
