The course focuses on the study of the boundaries of various hierarchical levels through the lens of cultural geography and also on the issue of cultural boundaries. Students will discuss the differences between the concepts of borders and boundaries, identities, symbols, narratives, cultural policy, cross-border and globalization influences and other cultural phenomena with an emphasis on space. During the exercises, students will prepare and defend a seminar paper, where they will illustrate the whole issue on specific cases, especially in Central Europe within the EU.
