Course content
1. Europe and Asia in the 21st century - new economic and political constellation 2. Heritage of colonialism in Asie 3. Role of religion in the 21st century 4. Cultural differences, otherness 5. Social structures in Asia: India and the caste system 6. Human rights issues 7. Czechia and India 8. World economic system and uneven development 9. Humanitarian aid and development cooperation 10. Raw-material and energetic problems 11. Migration, its reasons and consequences 12. Terrorism 13. Physical change of a climate and its stability 14. Diversity of biosphere

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)
  • Class attendance - 56 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 10 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 10 hours per semester

Learning outcomes
Aim of the course Global, regional and local topics is gripping multi-dimensional and extremely complex phenomenon of globalization, which interferes with their contradictory manifestations of societies throughout the world.
Knowledge of the complex and multidimensional challenges of globalization and related glocalization, the ability to review the given publication, the ability to develop a term paper on the topic at the required level.

Knowledge of human and physical geography
