1.The physical-geographic characteristics of the Czech Republic 2.Physical-geographical specifics of the Liberec Region 3.System of protection of nature in Czech Republic 4.Historical development of the Czech Republic 5.Population of the Czech Republic, national minorities, specifics and problems of the Czech Republic 6.Urban areas in the Czech Republic 7.Transport infrastructure in the Czech Republic 8.Geography of religion focusing on the Czech Republic 9.Economy of the Czech Republic. 10.Tourism and recreation in the Czech Republic. 11.Euroregion Nisa and the cross-border cooperation 12.The political-geographical characteristic of the Czech Republic 13.International relations of the Czech Republic, V4, EU Seminars: 1)Field trip with practical tasks of identification and understanding the physical geographical items 2)Discussion - Demographic issues in the contemporary Czech Republic and Europe 3)Field trip focused on the topic of tourism designed by students 4)Discussion - Role of the Czech republic in a wider geopolitical context

Learning outcomes
Lecture is focused to selected topics of geography, which involve both chapters of physical and human geography of the Czech Republic, with an emphasis on involvement of the specifics of the Liberec Region. Part of the course takes the form of a fieldwork. Seminars are focused on the discussion on particular issues based on an assigned reading and on individual observations of the students in the field.

Students participate in seminars and work individually on assigned topics, which they present at the end of the semester.
