Outline and discuss the concept of "geographical thinking" as a connection of theory, empiricism and applications with the distinction of the definition of geography as a scientific discipline with the subject and methods and its social construction. We follow the change in the social construction of geography and distinguish between physical-geographical thinking as a part of science and human-geographical thinking as a part of humanities with an important role of human action. Geography was able to penetrate projects of environmental, urban, rural, regional development, social issues, map / atlas creation, geographic information systems. It deals not only with the construction of geographical data and their interpretation, but also with their application in decision-making / planning / strategic processes.
