Topics of lectures: 1. Introduction to the issues of the local region and place. 2. Development in the philosophy of science of space and place (choir, topos, place, region). 3. Development in the understanding of the region in geographical thinking. 4. Gravitational space models (Reilly's model). 5. Development of administrative regionalization in the Czech Republic. 6. Regionalization and local region in the work of M. Hampl. 7. Global and local concepts (glocalization). 8. Regional development at the level of the local region. 9. Perception of place (empirical and experiential). 10. Maps and spatial data for the local region. 11. Topographic and mental maps of the local region / place. 12. Links between local regions, focus on the Liberec region. 13. Cross-border connections of local regions, focus on the Liberec region. 14. New trends in regionalization.
