Learning outcomes
|
The course builds on previous work experience of the Department of Geography in the design of teaching human geography within cooperation among actors from government, nonprofit, business and civil sector in the Liberecký kraj region (NUTS 3). It is based on the current theories and approaches in the Anglo-American human geographies applied to current local issues within the Liberecký kraj region. The key competencies developed within the course are understanding and contextualization of socially constructed spatiality, primary data construction and critical review of relevant secondary data sources and their interpretation within the processed semester projects linked to resolving the current local needs / issues of interest in the position of geographer.
Students will be able to use a wide variety of scientific research methods, will be able to assess which methods are most appropriate study of the problem, and will have initial experience with their implementation.

Prerequisites

Completion of basic courses on human geography.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student's performance analysis, Systematické pozorování studenta, Oral presentation of self-study
Ongoing systematic work on a semester project based on lectures and self-study of recommended reading. Successful defense of a project developed by fieldwork, demonstrating knowledge and application of theoretical methods and approaches based on recommended literature within the semester project.
