Course content
History and prominent town and country planning - tools and planning authorities in the Republic and the EU - acquirers, processors and users of planning documents and planning documentation - Types and content of planning documents and planning documentation - planning analytical materials (a new category of land planning in the country) - Zoning and Building Management - Resources for planning - Creation of regional plans and planning documents - Selected problems of town planning - Selected problems of rural planning - Key Problems planning free landscape - Selected Issues and functional industrial areas - Assessment of the impact of buildings and land development on the environment and public health

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Written assignment presentation and defence, Individual consultation
  • Class attendance - 42 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Familiarity with the disciplines of planning and urban design, an understanding of their role in creating a physical environment, an understanding of their relationship to social processes. Understanding the spatial planning system in the Czech Republic. Working with data and processing own planning issue.
Ability to read and undestand expert texts. Ability to work with data and with GIS individually.
Prerequisites
Ability to look up statistical data. Ability to work with GIS. Basic knowledge of public administrative in Czech Republic.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Presentation of group work, Written assignment

Credit: Active participation in practice, elaboration of semestral work, successful graduation in test. Details on the first practice. Exam: compound
