Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming)
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 31 hours per semester

Learning outcomes
The object of this course is basic introduction of the historical development of this sector and its theoretical and methodological instrumentarium. In addition, the course will provide information about traditional ways of structuring the European continent into cultural areas, and about ethnologically motivated interest in them. Particular attention will be given to the forms and methods of fixations of the territorial and mental limits and the issue of permeability. In addition to traditional regions it will be taken into account the development of the so called "Euroregions" and efforts to establish a new regional respectively. identitary units.
Students will be familiarized with the historical development of the field and introduced to the basic theoretical and methodological instrumentation.
Prerequisites
Fulfilment of previous study obligations, and general knowledge of Czech history, culture and history.
