Course content
The aim of the subject is the introduction of ethnographical work in regional conditions. The stress is given to the culture of everyday life with the example on the North of Bohemia (seats, archiítecture, agriculture, crafts, clothes, folk art, and Christian iconography, habits and rituals. The explanation will be oriented on the chosen examples in the field. During lectures it will be used the experiences of work in North Bohemian museum in Liberec. Thematic definition: 01) Ethnological study of the border region. Ethnography of the Czech-German relations 02) Regional Ethnography of the Liberec region: its history, contemporary possibilities and limits 03) Ethnography and museology, ethnographic workplaces in the Czech Republic 04) Majorities and minorities. Typology of the national and etnic groups, their status in different countries 05) Ethnology of the modern mass societies: "national-characterology" research, urban antropology 06) Inter-etnic relations and its study by ethnology. Study of "inter-cultural communication" in conditions of European ethnology 07) Practical exercises in methodology: structured interview, method of oral history

Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming)

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is the introduction of ethnographical work in regional conditions. The stress is given to the culture of everyday life with the example on the North of Bohemia (seats, archiítecture, agriculture, crafts, clothes, folk art, and Christian iconography, habits and rituals. The explanation will be oriented on the chosen examples in the field. During lectures it will be used the experiences of work in North Bohemian museum in Liberec.
It corresponds to the definition of the subject and to the demands given in syllabus.
Prerequisites
Before enlisting subjects marked as II or III student has to pass same subjects with mark I or II.

Essay
