Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the issue of the use of film material (fiction, documentary, professional and amateur film recordings) as a historical source in the broadest sense. Special attention is paid to the phenomenon of political propaganda through film recordings. Due to technical progress, the film became one of the most effective media in the second half of the 20th century, which has (and is) operating on the general public. It influences her opinions and attitudes, ways of social behavior, language, fashion trends and many other areas of everyday life. The film is also one of the most effective means of propaganda of various ideologies. The film has been, is and will be abused as a tool of political propaganda by various political systems. This seems particularly dangerous in the environment of totalitarian regimes, where the conditions for pluralism of opinion and defense of democratic principles and human rights are not created. An integral part of this course will be working with contemporary film recordings.
It corresponds to the definition of the subject and to the demands given in syllabus.
