Course content
The course provides a basic overview of the trends influencing the political, economic and social development of Europe and the world in the period from 1918 to 1945 and from 1945 until the turn of the 80s and 90s. Emphasis will be placed on the comparison between countries and regions, personalities and trends, not neglected cultural context; although it is the course of general history, it will also discussed the history of the interwar and postwar Czechoslovakia in the context of contemporary Europe.

Learning outcomes
The main focus of this lecture is the basic timeline of the most important events of the 20th century. It deals with the main political, cultural, economic and social developments not only on the old continent, but Asia and America as well.
Students will learn zkladními trends influencing the political, economic and social development of Europe and the world in the period from 1918 to 1945 and from 1945 until the turn of the 80 and 90 years.
Prerequisites
Fulfilment of previous study obligations, knowledge of general history.

Oral exam

Active attendance on discussions (lessons); fulfilment of homework; passing a test successfully; study of recommended literature
