Course content
01) Slavonic paganism and the myths of the tribe of Czechs 02) The beginnings of Christianity, the Great Moravia culture and the importance of Cyril-Method mission 03) Christianity, culture and education in the Czech Przemyslid state in the 10th century 04) The building of church organization of the Czech Przemyslid state 05) The beginnings and development of the Roman art 06) Education in the Czech lands in the 11th and 12th century 07) Expansion of art and education during the last Przemyslids 08) Early Gothic architecture, statuary etc. 09) Culture and education during the reign of John of Bohemia 10) Expansion, culture, education and art during the reign of Charles IV 11) Prague university and its impact, struggle for church reformation 12) The Art during times of Venceslas IV. 13) Culture, education and art in times of Hussite revolution 14) Late Gothic culture, education and art in the Czech lands

Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing)

Learning outcomes
The aim of the lecture is deepening of the knowledge about the medieval history in the context of cultural history.
It corresponds to the definition of the subject and to the demands given in syllabus.
