Course content
Lectures: 1) Why, how, what and against what/whom to secure; statical and dynamical methods of securisation; 2) Protection of saved data - physical separation from surround, media archivation, methods of reconstruction of damaged data (media harm, data structure violation) 3) Protection of received/transmitted data - firewalls, tunnels 4) Ciphering, mathematical basics of cryptography, symetric cipher 5) Asymetric cipher, hash, electronic signature 6) Secure socket layer, cetrificates, certification authoriries 7) IP tunnelling, IP forwarding, virtual networks 8) Secure login - ssh, scp, sftp 9) Kerberos and ticket service in general (security by third party) 10) Protection against viruses - classification of viruses, method of defense 11) Typical methods of penetration into enclosed systems 12) Annoying attacks (denial of service, spamming, hammering) 13) Securisation of shared data spaces 14) Spare lesson Tutorials: 1) Introduction with multi-user system SALIX-Linux, basic rules for work in UNIX 2) Application of data recovery methods - self-repairing codes, redundancy checks 3) Creating of a simple virtual network in the classroom, setting up of virtual network interfaces 4) Application of hash methods in practice - generating of SSL certificate and electronic signatures 5) Central administration of authentification - LDAP, Kerberos, SASL 6) Creating of a safe shared data space 7) Spare lesson, testing, presentation of seminary works

Learning outcomes
Subject introduces students into basic problems of logical and physical data security, no matter if stored in depository or translated in networks. Students will be then took up with the newest trends and technologies in data security and during tutorials they will have an opportunity to test his theoretical knowledges in praxis.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Essay, Student's performance analysis

Succesfull presentation of a seminary labor and passing of oral exam in the range of the syllabus
