Course content
Lectures: 1. Data in computer, base topics for data applications 2. SW tools of IS/IT 3. Microprocessor, structure and instruction set, interruption system, types (RISC/CISC), chipset 4. Internal memories (RAM/ROM, static/dynamic, cache, modules, parameters) 5. Computer interface, data transmission inside and outside computer 6. External memories, data media 7. I/O devices of computer systems 8. Introduction to data communication, LAN, WAN 9. Communication protocols, principles of intercommecting 10. Internet, base, principles, history and development 11. Internet applications and services 12. WWW applications, information resources 13. Security in ICT world 14. Revision Exercises: 1. The technology for building Web sites and applications 2. HTML, XHTML, specification of requirements on semestral project. 3. CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) 4. Creating Web pages layout 5. Využití skriptovacích jazyků 6. Use scripting languages 7. Presentation of semestral project and its defense.

Learning outcomes
Second part of four-semester block of information systems studies introduces students to the problems of computing technologies aimed on PC components. Stress is also given to principles and technologies of data communication networks and services of these networks. Students are learned to understand main application and services on the base of word-wide-web technologies. The end of the course explains question about security in the world of ICT.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme. They gain higher level of computer literacy and theoretical knowledge of ICT.

Knowledge of IS1: MS Word, network abilities, Internet, theory of Information

Oral exam, Written exam

Active participation on seminars min. 80%, successful passing of written test of practical part of this course min. 65%, written exam of theoretical knowledge min. 65% Oral exam: discussion of selected topics
