Course content
Lectures 1. Raster graphics - review, theory and practical use 2. Vector graphics - review, theory and practical use 3. Combination of raster and vector graphics, format overivew, practical cases and economical evaluation 4. Animation - principles, techniques, practical use, interactivity 5. 3D graphics - common properties with other graphics, principles of creation and editing 6. 3D graphics - comparsion of 2D and 3D animation, output methods, rendering engines 7. Digital video - history, principles, algorithms and formats 8. Digital video - acquisiton devices and technologies 9. Digital video - presentation technology 10. Digital video - editing, postproduction 11. Sound - history, principles, algorithms and formats 12. Sound - acquisiton and presentation devices and technologies 13. Multimedia - media combination and optimization for different enviroments, hypermedia 14. Multimedia - interactivity and interactive elements Tutorials: 1. Raster graphics - reveiw, advanced editing 2. Raster graphics - creative tools, format overview 3. Vector graphics and its use in various enviroments 4. Effective combination of raster and vector graphics 5. 3D graphics - basic modelling techniques, primitives, working enviroment setup 6. 3D graphics - advancedx techniques, output setup, rendering 7. 3D graphics - animation and physics, 2D and 3D graphics combination 8. Digitální video - resources, presentation technology, software 9. Digital video - basic editing 10. Digital video - media combination, advanced effects and creative tools 11. Digital video - acquisition technology, parametres and accessories 12. Sound - acquisition technology, creative and editing tools 13. Animation - basic techniques and principles 14. Interactive multimedia elements - Adobe Flash

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Demonstration, Project teaching, Working activities (workshops), Individual creative and artistic activities

Learning outcomes
Aim of the subject is to broaden and deepen students' knowledge acquired in Basic multimedia course. Computer graphics topics are broadened by video and auido acquisition, production and presentation. Students' knowldege is further deepend in area of theoretical aspects of multimedia technology and practical skills of mastering multimedia technology. One of the important topics is economical aspect of multimedia application in business.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme, possibility to continue in Multimedia Applications.
Prerequisites
completion of course Introduction to Multimedia, basic knowledge of processing raster graphics

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined examination, Student's performance analysis, Student's linguistic performance analysis, Practical demonstration of acquired skills, Systematické pozorování studenta, Presentation of acquired experience via portfolio

active participation on seminars min. 80%, theoretical paper on given topis and its presentation, practical project and its presentation, successful passing of written test of theoretical part of this course min. 60%, oral exam of theoretical knowledge min. 60%
