Course content |
1. Benefits of playing chess, basic didactic and methodology principles, games for beginners. 2. Board and pieces, moves of the pieces, value of pieces, the notation. 3. Check, mate, stalemate, basic mates. 4. Draw, the principles of the opening, twofold attack, discovered and double check. 5. Combinations, back-rank weakness, basic pawn endings (the opposition, the square, the critical square). 6. Combinations of pawns and pieces. 7. The first principles of tactics. 8. Attacks against the (un)castled King. 9. Queen versus pawn endgame, rook and pawn versus rook (Lucena position and Philidor position), pawn endings (realization of advantage, the propected passed and the outside passed pawn). 10. Endings (bishop versus knight, same color bishops, opposite color bishops). 11. Basic chess strategy (weak and strong squares, weak pawns, open lines). 12. Creating lectures.
