Learning outcomes
The aim of the conversation exercises is to achieve fully developed B2 level with a tendency to the threshold C1 level in the area of productive language skills, and advanced C1 level in receptive language skills. The content of the course is focused on the development of reading comprehension as a basis for the subsequent free speech. Compensation strategies are being practised on chosen texts to give the student confidence for their own oral presentation of the topic. The initial non-fiction and professional authentic texts cover lexically the topics of equality of employment and intergenerational conflicts. In preparing the free speech, students pay attention to the phonetic adequacy of the oral speech at the level of suprasegmental phenomena (sentence accent, intonation, pause) with the aim of engaging the listener and facilitating the process of decoding the communicated information.
