Learning outcomes
The course takes into account the difference in the initial language level of the first semester students, ranging from internediate B1 level to upper-intermediate B2 level. The course content follows up on the course Practical Language NJ2 and focuses on aligning heterogeneous language skills of listening with comprehension and writing. In the listening part, students develop strategies of global and selective listening with comprehension. Students will deepen and consolidate the ability to understand authentic texts. They will identify the information needed to fulfill the semi-controlled tasks and freer practice in follow-up (eg. reproduction and interpretation of the text and further development of the topic according to the assignment). At the same time, they extend their lexical knowledge. In the writing part, students deepen and consolidate the skill of appropriate argumentation when writing stylistic texts (description, exposition, official letter). In their written delivery, students will be able to express themselves about selected topics in an appropriate lexical and grammatical manner. The subject is gramatically interrelated with Practical Language NJ4.
