Course content
1. Reform pedagogical movement - historical overview and pedagogical starting point. New school and mew education - new school movement. Alternative education systems. 2. Waldorf pedagogy - personality of Rudolf Steiner and his pedagogical work. Anthroposophy and theosophy in Waldorf pedagogy and pre-school pedagogy. 3. Waldorf pedagogy - basic principles, analysis, overview. Educational areas in Waldorf pedagogy. Pedagogical and didactic analysis of education in Waldorf kindergarten. Teacher in Waldorf pedagogy concept. Current Waldorf education in the Czech Republic and Europe. Practice of selected school institutions working according to Waldorf pedagogy principles - example of Waldorf school. 4. Intensive block of hospitations at the Turnov kindergarten. Reflection of hospitations with respect to Waldorf pedagogy principles and child development in Waldorf pedagogical concept. 5. Montessori pedagogical system - philosophy of M. Montessori pedagogical system. Concept of child in pedagogy M. Montessori. Educational practice of pedagogy M. Montessori. The importance of didactic material in Montessori education. Cosmic education at M. Montessori. Practice of selected school institutions working according to the principles of pedagogy M. Montessori - example of the kindergarten in Jablonec nad Nisou. 6. Intensive block of hospitations at the Montessori kindergarten in Jablonec nad Nisou - Kokonín. Reflection of hospitations with respect to Montessori principles of pedagogy and child development in the Montessori pedagogical concept. 7. Jena Plan and pedagogy of the Jena plan - Petersen and its pedagogical origins, the Jena plan and its pedagogical origins, the didactic principles of the Jena plan, the organizational principles of the Jena plan. The Jena plan and its use in kindergartens.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Observation

Learning outcomes
The course introduces students to alternative school concepts of pre-school education.
After completion of the course student will be able: 1. to understand the content of prescribed curriculum of Alternative conceptions of pre-school education 2. to reflect the topic critically 3. to demonstrate specific intellectual skills gained in a course in writing of a semestral paper 4. to apply gained knowledge in educational process
Prerequisites
Student has basic knowledge of pedagogy and didactics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Interview, Written assignment

Oral colloquium, independent preparation to the educational block in kindergarten with respect to the principles of selected alternative educational concept.
