Course content
1. Principles of scientific work, meaning of scholar text. 2. Information databases and resources in the education sciences (specificity of the thematic field). 3. Work with academic literature, principles of scholar text creation (terminology, research, compilation, quote, ethics). 4. Design of bachelor project (topic, aim, structure, methodology, discussion, resources, requisites). 5. Research in education, specifics, possibilities, risks. 6. Basic research methods and tools (questioning, observation, case report, content analysis), specificity of the research field. 7. Defense of bachelor thesis.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 14 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 12 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course acquaints students with basic principles of scientific work and with creation of bachelor thesis. The content of the course is focused on working with literature, the use of available data and its interpretation, the construction of a specialized text and the specificity of research in the science of education. The output is the elaboration of the bachelor thesis concept.
After completion of the course student will be able: 1. to understand the content of prescribed curriculum of Methodology of bachelor thesis 2. to reflect the topic critically 3. to demonstrate specific intellectual skills gained in a course in writing of a semestral paper 4. to apply gained knowledge in own bachelor thesis
Prerequisites
Student has basic knowledge of pedagogy, psychology and didactics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written assignment

Elaboration of the bachelor thesis concept according to the thematic focus (topic, aim, concept, sources). Seminar / semester paper (scholar text analysis, analysis of published research report, thematic research, project of small research form).
