Course content
1. The subject of traffic education, situation in traffic education in the Czech Republic, current trends in EU countries, position of traffic education in pre-school education, relationship to psychological disciplines, traffic psychology. 2. Basic terms and objectives of traffic education for children. Rules of road traffic, safe behaviour in a vehicle (car seats, safety belts). Instruction of these rules to pre-school and basic school children. 3. Traffic psychology ? man-vehicle-traffic environment system. Traffic accidents ? reasons of traffic accidents, development of the accident rate. Children as traffic accident participants and casualties. BESIP organization, the participation of education in traffic education and prevention of traffic accidents. 4. Traffic Education for pre-school children, acquiring of habits, relationship to the environment and people, carefulness, orderliness. Qualities that influence children's reactions at selected traffic situations, training beneficial to their safe stay outside or in road traffic. 5. Education and training of rules of road traffic for children-cyclists 6. Excursion to a children's traffic playground, practical examples of traffic education in the playground, use of reflective materials. Traffic education as a game, list of publications for children, parents and teachers.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)
  • Class attendance - 40 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 20 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The subject deals with basic issues of traffic education of children with an accent on knowledge from the field of traffic psychology and the current situation of traffic education in our country. The subject is structured for the instruction of traffic education of pre-school and basic school children. The objective is to gain knowledge and experience in this field to create correct habits of children. At the same time, it is also about developing qualities that influence reactions of children in certain traffic situations, perception of danger and training that is useful for their safe stay outside, on the road and during a train and a car journey with their parents.
After completion of the subject student will be: 1. able to understand the content of prescribed curriculum of Traffic education 2. able to reflect the topic critically 3. able to demonstrate specific intellectual skills gained in a course, to plan and realize education with pre-school children 4. motivated for continuous learning in the field
Prerequisites
Student has basic knowledge of pedagogy and psychology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis, Written assignment

Active participation on the lecture. Participants will perform all given tasks. Reading of relevant texts.
