Course content
1. Ethics as a philosophical discipline, pedagogical (professional) ethics. 2. Teacher's moral profile (self-acceptation, acceptation of others). 3. Interpersonal relations and communication (teacher-pupil and teacher-parent relationships). 4. Teacher's pedagogical responsibility (decision-making, bearing the responsibility for one's decisions, legal responsibility). 5. Conflict (resolution of conflicts, self-control, assertiveness, management of aggressiveness and competitiveness). 6. Rights and duties (setting and keeping rules for coexistence). 7. Dignity of a human being (positive self-evaluation and evaluation of others). 8. Pro-social behaviour (towards children, in public life).

Learning activities and teaching methods

  • Home preparation for classes - 20 hours per semester

Learning outcomes
The course perceives ethics primarily as a practical philosophical discipline which one encounters in common life frequently without realizing it directly, with whose categories one works and under whose principles one acts. The instruction is conducted with respect to practical needs of pre-school teachers.
After completion of the subject student will be able 1. to understand the content of prescribed curriculum of Work ethics of kindergarten teacher 2. to reflect the topic critically 3. to demonstrate specific intellectual skills gained in a course in writing of a semestral theses 4. to apply gained knowledge in educational process 5. to be motivated for continuous learning in the field
Prerequisites
Student has basic knowledge of pedagogy and psychology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis

Debate over given topics that were taught in seminars, orientation in basic ethical categories, solving model situations, active participation in class.
