Course content
1. Theory of games and plays. 2. Philosophy of games and plays. 3. The place of games and plays in kindergarten. 4. Directed and didactical games and plays. 5. Open children games and plays. 6. Cognitive, social and sensomotor development through games and plays. 7. Games/plays and rules. 8. Role of teacher during open children game/play and organized game/play.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Active metods (simulation, situational contingency methods, drama,acting, namagerial acting )
  • Preparation for credit - 16 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 16 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course introduces students to use of games and plays in kindergarten.
After completion of the subject student will be able 1. to understand the content of prescribed curriculum of Methodology of games and plays 1 2. to reflect the topic critically 3. to demonstrate specific intellectual skills gained in a course in writing of a semestral theses 4. to apply gained knowledge in educational process 5. to be motivated for continuous learning in the field
Prerequisites
Student has basic knowledge of pedagogy, psychology and didactics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis, Oral presentation of self-study, Written assignment

Active attendance at seminars, study of literary resources, essay completion.
