Course content
|
1. Principals of scientific work, the meaning of the expert text. 2. Information databases and resources in educational sciences (topical field specifics). 3. Work with expert literature, principals of expert text creation (retrieval, compilation, citation, ethics). 4. Construction of bachelor theses project (topic, objectives, structure, methodology, discussion, resources, essentials). 5. Research in educational sciences - specifics, possibilities, risks. 6. Basic research methods and tools (questioning, observation, case study, content analysis), topical field specifics. 7. Bachelor theses presentation.

Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)

Learning outcomes
|
The course introduces students to basic principals of scientific work and with steps toward creation of bachelor theses. The subject focuses on work with expert literature, use of available data and their interpretation, construction of expert text and specifics of research in educational sciences. The output of the course is elaboration of bachelor theses project.
After completion of the subject student will be able 1. to understand the content of prescribed curriculum of Methodology of bachelor theses 2. to reflect the topic critically 3. to demonstrate specific intellectual skills gained in a course in writing of a semestral theses 4. to apply gained knowledge in a Bachelor theses 5. to be motivated for continuous learning in the field

Prerequisites

Student has basic knowledge of pedagogy, psychology and didactics.

Assessment methods and criteria

Student's performance analysis, Oral presentation of self-study, Written assignment
Study objectives: 1. active participation on the lecture 2. participants will perform all given tasks 3. reading of relevant academic texts 4. writing a semestral academic paper 5. successful accomplishment of institutional objectives of the course - attainment above the minimum requirements for the award of credit
