Course content
The aim of the course is to provide students with their own experience with the field of pre-school education. During the course, students have to practice independent pedagogical work in a chosen kindergarten. Students are getting to know the professional competencies of kindergarten teachers, based on pedagogical-psychological and methodical readiness, they are able to conduct preparations of pre-school education topic units independently. After an independent conduction of education, students reflect their practical outcomes with their tutor and they master methods of evaluation of their pedagogical work in relation with Educational Programme for Pre-School Education and professional competencies of a kindergarten teacher.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Group consultation, Individual consultation, Demonstration of student skills
  • Preparation for credit - 24 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 26 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 70 hours per semester
Learning outcomes

After completion of the subject student will be able 1. to understand the content of basic phenomena in everyday life in kindergartens 2. to prepare, conduct and evaluate own educational practice in kindergarten 3. to reflect basic phenomena of everyday life in kindergartens critically 4. to apply gained knowledge in educational process 5. to be motivated for continuous learning in the field
Prerequisites
Student has knowledge of and skills in pedagogy, psychology and didactics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis, Presentation of acquired experience via portfolio, Oral presentation of self-study

Completing educational activities, conscientious preparation and realization of educational activities. Recording selected pedagogical documentation. Regular consultations with mentor in didactics. Studying and reflection of literature. Processing the final portfolio based on partial portfolios and pedagogical diaries that prove acquirement of targeted competencies of the student. Positive evaluation of the student by the chosen kindergartens.
