Course content
1. Personal and social education - definition, goals, methods, outputs, safe environment, preparation, evaluation. 2. Competence of the teacher for the application of personal and social education to the work in kindergarten. Psychosocial burden in teacher work, psychohygiene habits. 3. Personal and social education and thematic blocks in kindergarten. 4. Who am I - self-knowledge of a child, relationship to one another, self-regulation and self-organization. 5. Me and others, others and me - the relationship of the child to his peers and adults, sharing, understanding of others, communication, cooperation, competence, problem solving. 6. Me and the world around - perceptions of difference, perceived risks, healthy lifestyle, family, application in the world. 7. Creativity. Values, attitudes, practical ethics.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Active metods (simulation, situational contingency methods, drama,acting, namagerial acting )
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 14 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 12 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the area of personality and social education, which penetrates all educational areas. Personal and social education contributes to the authentic establishment of the teacher's relationship with children and their parents, the development of relationships between children, the creation of a healthy self-image and the relationship of the child to the world surrounding it. In order to effectively manage the pre-school education requirements expressed above all in the level of competence of the teacher in the kindergarten, it is essential for the teacher to acquire the skills represented in this area.
After completion of the course student will be able: 1. to understand the content of prescribed curriculum of Personal and social education 2. to reflect the topic critically 3. to demonstrate specific intellectual skills gained in a course in writing of a semestral paper 4. to apply gained knowledge in educational process
Prerequisites
Student has basic knowledge of pedagogy.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral presentation of self-study, Written assignment

Active participation in seminars, creation and presentation of seminar task.
