Course content
1. Pedagogy as a science. 2. Education as a system. 3. Curriculum reform - Educational Framework for Preschool Education, School Educational Program and school profiling, Class Educational Program and its creation. 4. Educational factors - educator and educated. 5. Methods and forms of educational work in kindergarten - organizational forms, educational methods, innovative approaches in kindergarten. 6. Evaluation in kindergarten - assessment of the functioning of the kindergarten, evaluation of Class Educational Program, pedagogical-diagnostic activities, reflection of the educational process, self-reflection of the teacher.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 14 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 12 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic terminology that forms the content of the study. These concepts are then linked to the systems and structures that form the basis of knowledge necessary for further study.
After completion of the course student will be able: 1. to understand the content of prescribed curriculum of the course 2. to reflect the topics of the course critically 3. to demonstrate specific intellectual skills gained in a course in writing of a semestral theses 4. to apply gained knowledge in educational process
Prerequisites
Knowledge of basic concepts of pedagogy.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral presentation of self-study, Test

Active participation in lectures, performance of intermediate tasks, presentation on given topic, test.
