Course content

Social psychology - definition, description and place in system of human/social science. Interdisciplinary relations (sociology, ethology, anthropology, pedagogy etc.) Personality and socialization - primary and secondary socialization. Social cognition, perception, communication. Social attribution. Attitudes, stereotypes, prejudices. Social role, status, position. Norm and normality. Helathy personality concept. Identity. Relationships - afiliation, frindship, sexual attraction, love. Agression, hostility. Cooperation, conformity, competiton, individualism, asocial behaviour. Family - definiton, function. Early psycho-social development. School scoialization. Formal and informal peer group. Media and their influence on socialization of children. Pro.social and anti-social behaviour. Altruism. Small groups - structure, development, relationships. Intergroup relationships. Group management, leadership, authority. Personality psychology and social psychology in school practice and education.

Learning outcomes
|
The subject deals with basis of social psychology for teachers.
After completion of the subject student will be able 1. to understand the content of prescribed curriculum of Social psychology and personality psychology 2. to reflect the topic critically 3. to demonstrate specific intellectual skills gained in a course in writing of a semestral theses 4. to apply gained knowledge in educational process 5. to be motivated for continuous learning in the field

Prerequisites

Student has basic knowledge of general and developmental psychology.

Assessment methods and criteria

Combined examination
Study objectives: 1. active participation on the lecture 2. participants will perform all given tasks 3. reading of relevant academic texts 4. writing a semestral academic paper 5. successful accomplishment of institutional objectives of the course - attainment above the minimum requirements for the award of credit
