Course content
1. Introduction to the history of Roma (history, culture, values, norms, language, linguistic aspects) 2. Enviroment of socially excluded localities (contemporary situation in Czech republic, legislative frame, social worker, pedagogical assistent). 3. Problematic view of Romani pupil (its world, language difficulties, school environment, family values) 4. Social enviroment and social relationships (family, school, pupil-teacher, value of education, absence of pupil in school attendnce, cooperation school-family-leisure time organisations, educational problems) 5. The role of the teacher (effectivness, integration, cooperation, atributional errors, community) 6. Possible solutions of educational problems of Romani pupils (cooperation, multicultural education, strengthening of positive aspects, projects) 7. Boundaries of the possibilities of pedagogical influence (cooperating/non-cooperating family, integration vs. segregation, dysfunctional family)

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming)

Learning outcomes
The goal of the subjekt is gaining of competencies in the area of the education of the Romani pupil in temporary school and thematical question raising in multicultural education
After completion of the subject student will be able 1. to understand the content of prescribed curriculum of Romany students at modern-day schools 2. to reflect the topic critically 3. to demonstrate specific intellectual skills gained in a course in writing of a semestral theses 4. to apply gained knowledge in educational process 5. to be motivated for continuous learning in the field
Prerequisites
Student has basic knowledge of General Pedagogy and General Didactics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis

Study objectives: 1. active participation on the lecture 2. participants will perform all given tasks 3. reading of relevant academic texts 4. writing a semestral academic paper 5. successful accomplishment of institutional objectives of the course - attainment above the minimum requirements for the award of credit
