Course content
1. Objectives and tasks of sexual education, familiarization with contemporary research, discussion of current views on issues and controversial topics in the field of relationships and sexuality. 2. Analysis of selected literature on the subject. 3. The factors determining the formation of sexual behavior, the importance of sexuality in the life of the human being, important influences (family and institutions), the possibility of influencing attitudes towards partnership and sexuality in school and out-of-school institutions. 4. Topics suitable for the sexual education of children and adolescents (our body and relation to it, changes in adolescence and perception of sexuality in this period, the development of sexual and partnership relationships, development of intimacy in the relationship, preparation for responsible parenthood, protection against unwanted conception and sexualy transmitted diseases, building healthy family relationships, protection against sexual abuse and sexual aggression). Link with the Framework Educational Programs for Elementary Education. 5. Using a variety of methods in sexual education in relation to the developmental and individual peculiarities of pupils.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)

Learning outcomes
The course extends information about the sexual behavior of a person and the possibilities of influencing it through family education, at school and out-of-school institutions. Students will become acquainted with the current state of exploration and realization of sexual education, they will focus on the literature. It will also include the acquisition of selected activation methods suitable for sexual education. Students then prepare, evaluate, and implement activities suitable for sexual education in a selected age group.
After completion of the course student will be able: 1. to understand the content of prescribed curriculum of Sexual education 2. to reflect the topic critically 3. to demonstrate specific intellectual skills gained in a course in writing of a semestral paper 4. to apply gained knowledge in educational process
Prerequisites
Student has basic knowledge of psychology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral presentation of self-study, Written assignment

Active participation in the seminars, the critical analysis of the selected book, the theoretical and practical preparation, presentation and analysis of the selected activity related to the subject matter by the student.
