Course content
1. Defining basic concepts - management, leadership in relation to education. 2. Basic issues of school management. 3. Types of leadership and possibilities of their use in education. 4. Czech Republic strategy papers in education. 5. Values, missions and school visions, school development plans. 6. Culture and social climate of the school, possibilities of their formation and influence on the quality of the school. 7. Evaluation of schools and school institutions. 8. The teacher's professional qualities framework, the professional standard of the teacher's profession, the professional development of teachers. 9. Introduction to the theory of law - definition of basic legal concepts, sources of law, types of legal culture, division of law, legal relations, subjects of legal relationships. 10. The Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms, their application in the Education Act. 11. Overview of areas covered by the Education Act. 12. School law and regulations with a focus on the education of pupils with special educational needs and gifted pupils. 13. School law and school counseling services and school counseling institutions. 14. Safety and health protection in schools and educational institutions, Act on Educational Workers.

Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming)

Learning outcomes
Student will obtain basic information about the fields of school management, legal norms and school legislation.
Student will be able: 1. to orient in the area of school management 2. to understand the functioning of the Czech legal system 3. to orient in the strategic educational documents of the Czech Republic 4. to orient in the school legislation of the Czech Republic
Prerequisites
Graduate practice in school field.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written assignment, Test

Active participation in lectures. Written test.
