Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Demonstration of student skills, Students' portfolio

Learning outcomes
The course acquaints students with the area of education of pupils with special educational needs and (exceptionally) gifted pupils attending regular schools.
After completing the course the student will be able - analyze the causes of school failure - individualize and differentiate the educational process - to solve common problems of school life of pupils and students - to get acquainted with the counseling system of education
Prerequisites
Knowledge of general pedagogy, general didactics, developmental and social psychology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Practical demonstration of acquired skills, Presentation of group work

At least 75% attendance at lectures. Design and presentation of assessment of strengths and weaknesses of pupil with special educational needs and analysis of the pupil's possibilities for achieving expected outcomes within selected educational area and grade. Exam in the form of an accademic discussion with a focus on a deeper understanding of the selected type of special educational needs.
