Course content
The course deals with the issue of education of Jewish children in the ghetto Terezín. Students will get acquainted with the possibilities of education in the situation of life in the ghetto Terezín between 1942-45, with different educational concepts and educational views of Terezín educators. Presented are journals, drawings, poems, lyrics, songs and drama of Terezín children, which originated in the ghetto Terezin. The course uses texts and pictorial materials, video documentary on the issue. Part of the course is to visit the ghetto Terezín.

Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming)
  • Home preparation for classes - 32 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 7 hours per semester
  • Fieldtrips - 7 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 14 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Student is acquinted with eductaion of Jewish children during World War II in situation of living in ghetto Terezín.
After completion of the course student will be able 1. to understand the content of prescribed curriculum of Education in the ghetto Terezín 2. to reflect the topic critically 3. to demonstrate specific intellectual skills gained in a course in writing of a semestral theses
Prerequisites
Student has basic knowledge of general pedagogy and history of education.

Student's performance analysis, Written assignment

Study objectives: 1. active participation on the lecture 2. participants will perform all given tasks 3. reading of relevant academic texts 4. writing a semestral academic paper 5. successful accomplishment of institutional objectives of the course - attainment above the minimum requirements for the award of credits
