Course content
|
1. Reform pedagogical movement - historical overview and pedagogical starting point. New school and new education - new school movement. Alternative education systems. 2. Waldorf pedagogy - personality of Rudolf Steiner and his pedagogical work. 3. Anthroposophy and theosophy in the concept of Waldorf pedagogy. 4. Waldorf pedagogy - basic principles, analysis, overview. Waldorf preschool institutions - principles of educational and educational work. 5. Educational areas in Waldorf pedagogy. Pedagogical and didactic analysis of teaching in Waldorf kindergarten. 6. Teacher in Waldorf pedagogical concept. 7. Current Waldorf education in the Czech Republic and Europe. 8. Practice of selected school institutions working according to Waldorf pedagogy principles - example of Kindergarten Waldorf Turnov, Elementary School Waldorf Liberec. The basic part of the course is block of hospitations at Kindergarten Waldorf Turnov and Waldorf Liberec Elementary School. This is a practical part of the seminar, when the students observe the selected principles of Waldorf pedagogy and then analyze them with the teachers of the kindergarten and the seminar leaders.

Learning outcomes
|
The course introduces students to basic principles of Waldorf pedagogy and Waldorf school system. After completing the course, students will be able to analyse general pedagogical and didactic issues in the context of Waldorf pedagogy.
After completion of the course the student will be able to: 1. Understand the perspective of Waldorf pedagogy on child 2. Design an educational unit in the spirit of Waldorf pedagogy 3. Understand the basics of Waldorf pedagogy

|
Student has knowledge of pre-school education.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written assignment
Regular pedagogical visits of nursery schools with elements of alternative pedagogical concepts - waldorf kindergartens (Turnov, Liberec), reflection and critical analysis of hospitations, presentation of reflection of hospitations, creation of a proposal for educational short-term program and work activities according to alternative pedagogical concepts - teaching with respect to Waldorf pedagogy principles.
