Course content
Interpretation of musical thinking from the oldest period to the present. Every questions result from a wider context of human cultural development (connections with visual art, architecture, literature etc.) against a background of historical events. Various themes are thoroughly documented by audio demonstration, if need be videos. Spheres in lectures: Introduction to the history of music - History of music periodization - Antic music - Pre-romanic and Romanic period - Gothic - Renaissance - Baroque - Classicism - Romanticism - Music of 20th century - Questions of Czech music in the first half of 20th century - Generation of contemporary composers and their production.

Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Demonstration
  • Preparation for credit - 30 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 40 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 30 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 20 hours per semester

Combined examination, Oral exam, Presentation of acquired experience via portfolio

Activity, audio tes, exam. The course is held in Czech language, the requirements are stated in the Czech version.
