Course content
Thematic areas: 1. Significance of music and its function in human life 2. Psychological base of music and musical activities at kindergarten 3. Developing music activities of kindergarten school aged child 4. Rhytmical games, work with rhytm 5. Rhytmical games, work with rhytm, Orff's instrumentary 6. Singing activities at kindergarten 7. Singing activities at kindergarten 8. Song work at kindergarten 9. Song work at kindergarten 10. Song work at kindergarten 11. Instrumental activities - Orff's instrumentary, onomatopeia at kindergarten 12. Music - educational systéms - Orff, Kodály, Kabalevskij, Waldorf and Montessori pedagogy 13. Elementary musical creativity - synthesis of discussed topics in creative approach 14. Elementary musical creativity - synthesis of discussed topics in creative approach

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Written assignment presentation and defence, Motoric and practical working skills training, Individual creative and artistic activities, Demonstration of student skills
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Presentation preparation (report in a foreign language) - 20 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 30 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 12 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The subject acquaints students with the basic principles of musical activities in nursery schools. It provides a basic theoretical and practical framework for artistic, creative and musical activities in kindergartens.
Theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field.

General orientation in the subject.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis, Practical demonstration of acquired skills, Presentation of acquired experience via portfolio, Test

Participation in the classes 80%, semestral work. The course is held in Czech language, all requirements are stated in the Czech version.
