Course content
Thematic areas - lectures: 1-2. Linguistic and literary education in kindergarten - goals, content, teacher's personality. 3-4. Linguistic and literary education in kindergarten - use of aids. 5-6. Development of reading skills - strategy in kindergarten 7-10. Work with literary text - methods of evocation. 11-14. Sharing experiences in a group through a literary text. Thematic areas - Exercise - Form of Activity Teaching: 1-2. Library in kindergarten. 3-4. Motivation to work with the literary text. 5-6. Guided reading in kindergarten. 7-10. Sharing experiences in a group. 11-12. Browse Books - sharing in a group. 13-14. Reading a literary text for children in kindergarten.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Written assignment presentation and defence
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 10 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 30 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 22 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The subject acquaints students with the didactic principles of language and literary education in pre-school education. It focuses not only on theory, but also on practical teaching, whose methodology students use in practice in the form of game activities. The content of the seminar corresponds to the requirements for developing pre-reading literacy.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Student's performance analysis, Oral presentation of self-study

Presentation, seminar paper, written exam. The course is held in Czech language, the requirements are stated in the Czech version.
