Course content
Lectures - thematic areas: 1. The universe, the Solar System, the Earth's movement around the Sun, the seasons on Earth. 2. Earth, size, shape, sea and land, continents, Europe. 3. Czech Republic. 4. Life on Earth. Unity and diversity of life. Fundamentals of the taxonomic system of organisms. 5. Landscape as a space consisting of natural and human activity, landscape morphology. 6. The environment in which we live, our community. 7. What threatens us, traffic situation. 8. Man, the development of man's influence on nature, residential, transport and industrial infrastructure. 9. Human society, organization of society in the cultural conditions of the Czech Republic, fundamentals of demography. 10. Child and society, life in society, diversity of cultures. 11. My body, day mode, life. 12. Child and his closest social world, my family. 13. Child and the other, principles of communication, children's groups. 14. The objects that surround us. Exercises: Thematic areas are the same as for lectures. The exercises following the lecture are focused on the same subject area and are focused on the practical training of knowledge from lectures and on the didactic questions of passing this knowledge to children.

  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 20 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 30 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 12 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with a comprehensive view of the world that surrounds us and our children. A hierarchical approach is used from the description of the largest objects (the universe) to the particular social microcosm that the child immediately surrounds. The interrelationships between the different levels and the need for a complex view are emphasized. Part of this is also the acquisition of basic professional terminology for describing the world around us.

General orientation in the subject.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written assignment, Test

Participation in the classes, semestral work. Written test. The course is held in Czech language, the requirements are stated in the Czech version.
