Course content
Lectures - thematic areas: 1. Introduction to environmental education, principles of environmental protection. 2. Methodology of environmental education, basic principles, selected methodology in class and field, teaching programs. 3. Philosophy and environmental protection, ecosophia, philosophy of respect for life. 4. Sustainable development strategy, application of the principles in kindergarten, principle of personal responsibility. 5. Protection of the population. 6. Air protection. 7. Water protection. 8. Soil and rock protection. 9. Protection of flora, fauna and ecosystems. 10. Landscape protection. 11. Public involvement in environmental protection. 12. Educating children for rational management of energy and material resources, practical activities in kindergartens. 13. Educating children to a sensitive relationship to nature, practical activities in kindergartens. 14. Conclusion, integration of enviornmental education into the overall system of education and training in kindergarten. Exercises: Thematic areas are the same as for lectures. The exercises following the lecture are focused on the same subject area and are focused on the practical training of knowledge from lectures and on the didactic questions of passing this knowledge to children.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with the general principles of approach to environmental protection, broader social and ethical framework, which is then reflected in work in kindergartens. It also includes an overview of the main environmental problems of the various components of the environment and the ways of their protection. Without this knowledge, the reasons for practical conservation measures can not be understood. At the same time, practical exercises of the everyday application of the principles of sustainable development to the nursery and the education of children are discussed and practiced.

Assessment methods and criteria
Test

Participation in the classes, written test. The course is held in Czech language, the requirements are stated in the Czech version.
