Course content
The course introduces different forms and methods of education of nature science in preschool education. It focuses on ecosystem conception and research and projekt methods. The emphasis is put on close contact and creating positive chldren´s attitude to the nature. The course includes fieldwork and excursion to ecocentres, introduction to their programmes and other offer and service for schools.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Written assignment presentation and defence, Observation, Project teaching, Active metods (simulation, situational contingency methods, drama,acting, namagerial acting ), Problematic methods (research and exploration), Practicum, Seminár
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 20 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 12 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course presents nature science terminology (chemistry, physics) and the methods of science education pre-school institution. The focus is on formation of positive relationship to living organisms. How to develop science literacy through experiments, simple activities. Basics of ecology education and prevention.
Teoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field.
Prerequisites
General orientation in the subject.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis, Presentation of group work, Oral presentation of self-study, Written assignment

Active participation in lessons, excursion to ecocentres, writting a thesis on chosen subject and its presentation in lesson The course is held in Czech language, the requirements are stated in the Czech version.
