Course content
Thematic areas: 1. Significance of music and its function in human life 2. Psychological base of music and musical activities at 1. stage of ZŠ 3. Developing music activities of primary school aged child (1. stage) 4. Rhytmical games, work with rhytm 5. Rhytmical games, work with rhytm, Orff's instrumentary 6. Singing activities at 1.stage 7. Singing activities at 1.stage 8. Song work at 1.stage 9. Song work at 1.stage 10. Song work at 1 stage 11. Instrumental activities - Orff's instrumentary, onomatopeia at 1. stage 12. Music - educational systéms - Orff, Kodály, Kabalevskij, Waldorf and Montessori pedagogy 13. Elementary musical creativity - synthesis of discussed topics in creative approach

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Individual creative and artistic activities, Demonstration of student skills, Lecture, Practicum, Students' portfolio
  • Preparation for exam - 30 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 42 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 30 hours per semester
  • Presentation preparation (report) - 18 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The Learning outcomes of this course unit: The subject acquaints students with the basic principles of musical activities in the elementary school. Undergraduates are provided with a basic theoretical and practical framework for artistic, creative methods and activities within the musical activity genre in elementary school.
Theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field.
Prerequisites
General orientation in the subject.

Assessment methods and criteria
Practical demonstration of acquired skills, Presentation of artistic and creative activities, Presentation of acquired experience via portfolio, Oral presentation of self-study

Participation, seminar work, practical presentation. The course is held in Czech language, the requirements are stated in the Czech version.
