Course content
Thematic areas: The place we live in 1. Map, plan, determination of the world sides, location of residence. 2. Basic geographic knowledge about the Czech Republic. 3. Our capital city. 4. State symbols, state authorities. 5. Basic knowledge of Europe, EU states. The people around us 6. Man is a social being, relationships between people, the rights and obligations of the pupil. 7. Basic forms of ownership, financial literacy. 8. Environmental protection. People and time 9. Timeline, understanding the relationship between times and phenomena. 10. Use of information resources to understand the past and comparison with today´s life . 11. Tales of ancient times (beauties, myths, rumors). 12. Regional cultural monuments. 13. The way of life of ancestors in our territory. 14. Historical reasons for the inclusion of public holidays and important days.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Seminár
  • Semestral paper - 20 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 20 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 22 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course introduce the basic topics of the subject and its didactics. The basic topics of the subject are strengthened and the didactics are developed in theoretical and practical seminars.

General orientation in the subject.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral presentation of self-study, Written assignment, Test

Attendance at seminars, presentation, written test. The course is held in Czech language, the requirements are stated in the Czech version.
