Course content
Thematic areas: 1. Content of Didactic of Science 2. Forms and methods of teaching Science 3. Science field trip - developing sensitivity of children 4. Nature trails as a base for science excursions 5. Plants - collecting, botanical observation and experiments, laboratory work 6. Animals - collecting and observation of invertebrates, Animal Assistent Education, laboratory work 7. Didactic games in teaching science 8. Project education in science 9. Introduction to environmental education, organisations focused on environmental education 10. Excursion to a centre of environmental education 11.-14. Presenting of seminar works

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 20 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 20 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 12 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 10 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course presents forms and methods of teaching science at primary school. It's focused on ecosystem conception of education, exploring and project education and also creating positive attitude of children to the nature. The course includes a field trip and an excursion to a centre of environmental education.
Theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field.
Prerequisites
General orientation in the subject.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis, Practical demonstration of acquired skills, Written assignment

Active participation at lessons, seminar work, presentation. The course is held in Czech language, the requirements are stated in the Czech version.
