Course content
The subject gives a coherent and comprehensive information on the basic characteristics of the Czech language with a focus on orthography. Seminar themes: Graphical part of speech. Kinds of otrpgraphy. Ortography and its development and ranges. Where we write i, í, y, ý at home word radixes, prefixes vy- , vý- , substantive and adjective endings, conglomerate verb form at endings of past tense. Consonant groups writing. Prepositions and prefixes s, z. Loanword writing. Capital letters writing. Commas at simple clauses and at complex and compose sentences. Interpunctuation and diacritical marks. Typographical rules. Practical examples from pedagogical practice.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide general and coherent information on the basic characteristics of the Czech language with a focus on orthography.

General orientation in the subject.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Student's performance analysis, Student's linguistic performance analysis, Didactic test

Prezentation of ortographic and stylistics knowledge in the text, exam. The course is held in Czech language, the requirements are stated in the Czech version.
